The Comedy of Errors at Spinningfields, Manchester

Saturday, 19. July 2014 10:39

4 star review from Manchester Evening News:

“The performance of the night was Mia Keadell‘s unstintingly chirpy Dromio (above), while Jonathan Mulquin (below) also maintained an impressive fever pitch of farcical incredulity as Antiphones of Ephesus.”

A Great Patron for our Norwich Season

Sunday, 15. July 2012 15:20

Norwich was a huge success. We had audiences of up to 500 per night and got great reviews. Des Barrit joined us on the opening of Shrew and got a huge cheer when David Davies thanked him in a pre-show speech, “Desmond Barrit is our Patron. He was an amazing Falstaff for the Sir Peter Hall Company last year, has just finished playing a knockout Wizard in Wicked on the West End and will be Falstaff for the RSC later this year. He has given interviews on radio and in print for us and we have record numbers this year so you see – one man can make a difference!”. This was met by a huge roar from the crowd. Later he was dragged on stage during the ‘tailor scene’ by a wicked Peter Dineen and he took it in good humour. An amazing actor and a wonderful man – we are very appreciative that he was our patron in Norwich this year. And glad he made it into our review.

“The cast, music and setting married into an excellent trio – and with Desmond Barrit, actor and patron of the Shakespeare Festival pulled on to the stage unexpectedly – it felt all the more charming and tailored to the Norwich audience” – EDP
