2014 a very special year for Shakespeare lovers

Thursday, 6. February 2014 10:51

2014 will mark the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth and our 5th year as a touring theatre company. To celebrate we have chosen to perform Shakespeare’s classic farcical comedy The Comedy of Errors and his greatest tragedy Macbeth.

Both plays will be directed by Ed Viney who last year directed the highly successful A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Our fight director, Dan Styles has assured us of some amazing sword and fight sequences.

We are thrilled to be returning to Reading School, Kentwell Hall, Windsor, Arundel Castle, Taunton, Chepstow, Bristol and York.

Some exciting new venues will be announced shortly!

Actors wishing to audition can send their CV’s and a headshot photo to: GB Theatre Company Ltd, 17 Boileau Road, Barnes, London SW13 9BJ. Auditions will take place in the early spring and our 2014 cast will then be announced.

A few days off before our final shows

Wednesday, 25. July 2012 15:14

We have just enjoyed a fantastic week at Chepstow Castle followed by a long train journey to Kentwell Hall where we enjoyed the usual amazing hospitality of Patrick and Judith Phillips and the very warm audience reception that we have built up over the years. Kentwell is a wonderful venue and the sun came out and stayed. As they have Tudor recreations at Kentwell every year we were joined by stewards in authentic costumes. Molly’s Mother whispered, ‘Molly is a wicked programme seller!’ and she proved to be just that and very popular with the crowds as well! Many thanks Molly.

The Cast have a few well-earned days off before our August shows at Sheffield, Cornwall, Warwick, London and Arundel. If you do get the chance, please do come and see these fabulous shows!

Kentwell Hall shows a huge success

Sunday, 25. July 2010 17:22

Our weekend at Kentwell Hall was a huge success. Sadly, Suzannah Hampton had to pull out of the show and was replaced by Stacey Roca in As You Like It and Jenny Stephens in The Merry Wives of Windsor. Our thanks to Stacey and Jenny for fabulous performances and also to the wonderful audiences.

We are now preparing for our tour of the Czech Republic , and our end of tour shows at Arundel Castle. Tickets for the Arundel shows are selling well – it would be wise to book now if you are thinking of coming to see us. Telephone 01903 882173 or visit the Arundel Castle Ticket Office (open 10am to 4pm everday) or book online.
